Fighting Bias and Injustice: ManageBetter's Mission for Workplace Fairness

After watching "American Nightmare" on Netflix, I couldn't shake off the unsettling feeling it left behind. My heart goes out to Denise and Aaron, enduring unimaginable horrors.

Thankfully, the perpetrator is now incarcerated. However, Denise and Aaron didn't mince words when sharing their dissatisfaction with how the Vallejo Police Department conducted the investigation.

The list of flaws in Vallejo's law enforcement is extensive:

➡️ Sexism
➡️ Recency bias
➡️ Lack of effort
➡️ False accusations
➡️ Confirmation bias
➡️ Lack of objectivity
➡️ Conflict of interest
➡️ And an approach of guilty until proven innocent

Despite these shortcomings, the Vallejo PD faced no consequences. Shockingly, the lead investigator was even celebrated as the Officer of the Year in 2015, the same year he stumbled in the Denise Haskins case.

As the CEO of ManageBetter, when I wake up every morning, I'm blessed that I get to build software that confronts these challenges – unfair treatment, irresponsibility, and more.

We're all about tackling these issues head on.

Our mission? Simple: we're here to shake things up, starting with the kind of unfair treatment we've seen (ahem, Vallejo PD, we're looking at you).

What's our secret sauce?

Well, it's about kicking bias and cognitive errors to the curb. With ManageBetter, we're all about leveling the playing field and holding folks accountable.

Because let's face it, a fairer world is a better world.
